July was an important month for us, as we returned to Carco.com.au Raceway for the WA Production Car State Championship. This event was not just another race but a critical test for our VE Commodore as we prepare for the upcoming Phillip Island GT Festival in August.
The weekend started off strong, with clear skies and a well-prepped track. From the moment we rolled the Commodore out onto the tarmac, the car felt solid, showcasing the improvements we’ve been working on. However, as the laps piled on, it became clear that we still have a bit of fine-tuning to do. We encountered some push issues—especially through the mid-corner phases—that we’ll need to address before heading to Phillip Island. But the positive takeaway is that these are challenges we can tackle, and our team is already working on adjustments to ensure we’re at peak performance come August.
Despite the minor handling issues, the Commodore was a force to be reckoned with all weekend. The power and reliability were there when it counted, and we were able to secure a clean sweep, taking first overall for the day. It’s a fantastic feeling to come away with a win, especially knowing that we’re on the right track with our setup.
This victory not only boosts our confidence but also provides valuable data and insights as we fine-tune the car for the GT Festival. The competition at Phillip Island will be fierce, but this weekend’s success has given us the momentum and the information we need to ensure that we’re ready to compete at the highest level.
A big thank you to the team for their hard work and dedication, and to all our supporters who continue to stand by us. The road to Phillip Island is getting shorter, and we’re more determined than ever to make our mark. Stay tuned for more updates as we push forward to the GT Festival—there’s plenty more racing to come!
