More Info;
SPA Technique produce a wide range of FIA and SFI approved fire extinguishers for many different applications, from grass roots motorsport all the way to highest levels of motor racing.
Our systems have been designed and tested to the highest standards available to withstand the harsh environment of motor racing, we offer a full range of FIA and SFI approved systems.
These systems range from standalone through to a whole host of fully automatically activated fire extinguishers.
We pride ourselves on using the best technology available to enhance our products and provide the best solutions available to you utilising the latest in Halon replacement gases to systems that use pyrotechnic devices rather than nitrogen pressurised cylinders for easy air transportation or special projects.
Totally new for 2018 onwards SPA Technique have re-engineered the complete range of AFFF products to offer improved flow rates, improved nozzle atomisation and faster fire out times as well as to offer a higher margin of safety. These new systems utilise FireAde2000® AFFF-AR (Aqueous Film Forming Foam - ALCOHOL RESISTANT) the most organic, environmentally safe foam agent on the planet. It contains zero hazardous chemicals and encapsulates and blankets the fire to quickly remove the heat, knockdown the flame, and smother the fire. The agent is climate controlled to -40°C.
In addition to these improvements a new automatic feature has been added to a range of models, in the event driver or Marshal is unable to operate the system and cockpit temperatures become excessive the system will operate automatically, under normal user conditions either the electrical switch or mechanical valve will be the standard method of operation, this is purely a backup feature that offers further peace of mind should you be away from the vehicle or in the event you are unable to operate the system.
These have been specifically designed for use in competition vehicles offering the latest in on board fire protection.
Our FIA homologated systems are tested and observed by the BSI institute to FIA standards.
We offer systems for Circuit use, Saloon and Sportscars, Single Seaters, Rally Cars and much more.
When purchasing a SPA Technique fire suppression system, you can be confident that these have been rigorously tested in conjunction with the BSI and fully conform to the latest FIA regulations for competition vehicles.
Note: FIA rules require fire systems to be inspected and re-certified every 2 years by the manufacturer or their approved service agent.
CAMS Schedule H – Fire Extinguishers
Plumbed-in fire extinguisher systems that are currently fitted and are of the prior FIA standard may continue to be used until 31 December 2018. For the ARC Outright class, it will be mandatory to have fitted an extinguisher system compliant with the rally requirements of FIA Article 253 and either FIA Technical List No. 16 or FIA Technical List No. 52.
As with all race components fabrication and install needs to be done by a competent fabricator.
